Frances Impacts Marlins

In all of the coverage about the storm this weekend, including a significant amount of coverage of the impact the storm did have and would have on sporting events, one issue that I didn't see covered involved the Marlins. The Marlins - Cubs series in South Florida was cancelled, ultimately, for obvious reasons, but one alternative that seems at least somewhat logical was apparently never discussed - at least not publicly; that would involve swapping series - having played the series this past weekend in Chicago and this upcoming weekend in Miami. This would have been opposite of the original schedule, but would have allowed both teams to maintain their original pace, and it also would have guaranteed safe haven for the Marlins players and their families. Maybe we'll get an explanation of that in the days to come.
