Neglect

Well, I didn't want the day to go by without posting, but things are busy here in Florida as we try to cram a full week into what might be a short one because of Hurricane Frances (a short one in the sense that there might be no work later in the week while we all prepare our homes for the storm).

But it's September 1st now, which means the dog days of August are over and playoff races are really heating up. Who would have thought though that on September 1st, Mark Prior and Josh Beckett would have a combined ten wins between them? Not many folks, me included, I'm guessing. Most people would have thought they'd at least have ten wins a piece - maybe closer to fifteen each. But they don't. They only have ten. And still, the Cubs and the Marlins are in the thick of the playoff hunt. The two series coming up this weekend and next between these two could go a long way towards sealing their playoff hopes (even splitting the six games might doom them if one or two of the other contenders goes on a good run).

Stay safe and stay dry!
